Make Music Day will take place on June 21 across parks, museums, restaurants, theaters and other community spaces in Orange County. The event, which began in France in 1982 as Fête de la Musique, is now observed in more than 1,000 cities worldwide and encourages free public performances by musicians of all ages and skill levels. Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs and United Arts of Central Florida are coordinating the local celebration, linking musicians with venues.
Performances are planned for a range of locations including museums, theaters, restaurants, public plazas, transit stops and private residences, featuring styles such as jazz, blues, country, hip‑hop, Latin, choral and East Asian fusion. The county invites musicians and venue hosts to register through the Make Music Day website, with a registration deadline of June 19.
