The Pegasus Launch Program, funded by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, is a new initiative at the University of Central Florida that will debut in August 2027. It is designed to help transfer students secure employment or graduate‑school placement by linking coursework with career preparation, mentorship and High‑Impact Practices such as internships, work‑based learning and undergraduate research.

Data show that transfer students are less likely to secure post‑graduation employment or graduate‑school placement than students who begin at UCF, but those who engage in hands‑on learning are more likely to have secured opportunities at graduation. The program will provide targeted support before and after transfer through technology integration, a digital curriculum‑to‑career degree map aligned with real‑time job market data, and tools such as VMock AI interview feedback and the Focus2Career planning system. It also aims to increase participation in High‑Impact Practices, supporting the university goal that all undergraduates complete at least one such experience by graduation.

UCF serves nearly half of its 60,300 undergraduates through transfer pathways. DirectConnect to UCF, a model that guarantees admission for students who earn an associate degree at one of seven state colleges, enrolls about 5,000 students each year. National Transfer Student Week runs from Oct. 19‑23.
