UCF, founded in 1963, marks the 10th anniversary of its annual Space Game with custom Mission X uniforms that draw on the design of NASA’s early Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions. Linebacker Jayden Jennings ’26MA models the uniform at the Kennedy Space Center’s Apollo/Saturn V Center. The university also honors astronaut John Young, an Orlando native who spoke at the first commencement ceremony in 1970 and later walked on the moon.
Space Week begins on Oct. 25, launching the second university‑wide celebration of UCF’s role in space research, the state’s growing space economy and the preparation of future explorers. The week includes summits with the National Space Society and The Economist, a space‑themed drone show, the inaugural UCF Innovate Day and other events.
The football team will face Baylor in the Space Game on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised and tickets are sold through UCF’s Ticketmaster page, while students may attend for free. Additional details about the Mission X uniforms and student ticket information are available on the university’s website.
