SMART Recovery meets each Monday, except when the campus is closed for holidays, and is open to all UCF students, faculty, staff and community members. The program follows an evidence‑informed approach rooted in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
The group helps participants build and maintain motivation, cope with urges and cravings, manage thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and work toward a balanced life. It focuses on addictive behaviors rather than specific substances, making it suitable for concerns such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, tobacco and eating disorders.
More details about the meeting format are available at the SMART Recovery website and additional UCF recovery resources can be found on the university’s site.
